FACILITIES PROVIDED FOR ISSUE OF IEC NUMBER IN THE OFFICE OF THE ZONAL JOINT DIRECTOR GENERAL OF FOREIGN TRADE, MUMBAI
The IEC Counter and the IEC Section are located on the 4th floor of this office.
The application forms can be down loaded from the web-site or it may be obtained by copying the format from the Handbook of Procedures (Appendix 1A and 2A) as well. This office distributes blank application forms free of cost to genuine applicants. To obtain such forms applicant may contact Export Facilitation Cell on 2nd floor of this office.
Applicants are advised not to contact or go by the advise of any unauthorised persons. They should contact Export Facilitation Cell/Counter Assistance Cell. located on 2nd floor of this office for any assistance including guidance regarding filling up of IEC forms. Officers in-charge of IEC, i.e. Deputy Director General of Foreign Trade/Joint Director General of Foreign Trade (IEC) (on 2nd floor) may be contacted in case of any difficulty through telephone, e-mail or personal meeting..
No vendor or book-seller has been authorised by this office to sell forms/books/publication etc. and no counter/office on the ground floor has been authorised to sell IEC forms/any other forms or to guide/help/interact with exporters/importers.
On submission of the application for IEC at the IEC counter (by 12.30 a.m.) , a computerised receipt with file number will be given to the applicant if the application is found to be in order after pre-scrutiny on the same day after 5.00 p.m.. In case of any deficiencies, the same will be noted in writing by the IEC section on the back of the application & returned to the party for compliance.
IEC number generated against the file number can be verified from this web-site through the "application status" option. The hard copy of the IEC will be sent to the party by registered/speed post within three days from the date of issue of file number.
