Customs duty on PSF , PFY ,other man-made fibres ,polyester chips, DMT, PTA MEG lowered to 5% and Paraxylene being exempted from Customs

G.S.R. (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 21/2002–Customs, dated the 1st March, 2002 which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, vide number G.S.R. 118(E), dated the 1st March, 2002, namely:-

In the said notification, -

in the Table, -

(i) against S.No.419, for the entry in column (4), the entry “ Nil’’ shall be substituted;

(ii) for S.No. 534, and the entries relating thereto, the following S.No. and entries shall be substituted, namely:-

“534 5401, 5402, 5403, 5404, 5405 00 00 or 5406 All goods, other than those of nylon 5% - -’’;

(iii) for S.No. 535A, and the entries relating thereto, the following S.No. and entries shall be substituted, namely:

“535A 5501 to 5510 All goods, other than those of nylon 5% - -’’;

(iv) after S.No.553 and the entries relating thereto, the following S.Nos and entries shall be inserted, namely:-

“553 A 2905 31 00 Mono ethylene glycol (MEG) 5% - -
553B 2917 36 00 Pure terephthalic acid (PTA) 5% - -
553C 2917 37 00 Dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) 5% - -’’;

(v) after S.No. 559 and the entries relating thereto, the following S.No. and entries shall be inserted, namely:-

“559A 3907 Polyester chips 5% - -”;
