Amendments in the notification regarding adjudicating authorities
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 and sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, vide, number S.O. 1776 (E), dated the 17th October 2007, Published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), namely:-

In the said notification, for the words, brackets and figures, “ and Commissioner of Customs (Imports), Nhava Sheva (ii) ”, the brackets, figures, and words “(ii) Commissioner of Customs (imports), Nhava Sheva and (iii) Commissioner of Customs, Inland Container Depot, Tughlakabad, New Delhi ”, shall be substituted.

Amendments in the notification regarding adjudicating authorities for Customs cases
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 and sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby makes the following amendment in the notification No. 108/2007-Customs(N.T.), dated 17th October, 2007 published in the Gazette of India Part II Section 3 Sub-Section (ii) vice S.O. 1777 (E) dated 17th October 2007, of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) namely:-

In the said notification, after serial number (xv), the following shall be inserted; namely:-

‘(xvi) Commissioner of Central Excise, Indore ’.

CBEC appoints common adjudicating authorities for Customs cases
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 and sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby appoints the Commissioner of Central Excise (Adjudication), Chennai to act as a common adjudicating authority to exercise the powers and discharge the duties conferred or imposed on

(i) the Commissioner of Customs (Seaport-Import), Custom House, Chennai;

(ii) the Commissioner of Customs, Air Cargo Complex, Chennai; and

(iii) the Commissioner of Customs (Import), Custom House, Nhava Sheva,

for the purpose of adjudicating the matters relating to Show Cause Notices pertaining to Shri Varadhan Swamy, Proprietor, M/s Cinetekk, Plot No. 9, 8th Cross, Anna Nagar, Pondicherry and Smt. Vijayalakshmi, Proprietorix, M/s. Cineland, Plot No. 9, 8th Cross, Anna Nagar, Pondicherry issued vide, DRI F.No. VIII/48/27/2007, dated the 29th January, 2008, and DRI F.No. VIII/48/28/2007, dated the 30th January, 2008 by the Additional Director General, Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence, 25, Gopalkrishna (Iyer) Road, T. CBEC appoints common adjudicating authorities for Customs cases
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 and sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby appoints the Commissioner of Customs (Import), Customs House, Chennai to act as a common adjudicating authority to exercise the powers and discharge the duties conferred or imposed on,-
