Certain types of Exotic Birds allowed to be Imported

S.O. (E): In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) read with Paragraph 1.3 and 4.1 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in Table B in Schedule 2, of the Book Titled “ITC(HS) Classifications of Export & Import Items 1997-2002” (as amended).

2. The Item Description, Policy and Nature of Restriction as indicated against Code 0106 may be amended to read as under:-

Export permitted under licence. Export applications in Appendix-18A may be made to DGFT, New Delhi, accompanied by a copy of Valid exports orders/Irrevocable letter of Credit from the foreign buyer, a copy of the valid RCMC, a copy of the IEC Code No. and the Certificate from the Chief Wild Life Warden of the concerned state from where Exotic Birds (Java Sparrow) have been procured to the effect that the birds to be exported are from captive Bred Stock. Exports, if allowed shall be subject to pre-shipment inspection and CITES Certificate.
